Why the Chuckanuts? 

The case for protecting the Chuckanuts, including Blanchard Mountain, is stated in some detail in a recent letter from the CMPD Advisory Committee to the Blanchard Mountain Strategies Group (BSG) facilitated by the DNR. (The letter is an 8-page PDF file.)

While the CMPD Advisory Committee has not taken a formal position on the BSG agreement, we remain strong advocates for ecosystem protection and nonmotorized recreation in the region.
